I want to dance while I'm here so I do. So you understand - the most amazing stuff rarely look amazing to anyone, especially me, till many moons later. Other things are more immediately apparent, like a great song, or a beautifull garden. There isn't a 'friend-meter' either, ... but everyone knows if you are, or arent. Same for spiritual stuff, its by-products are not always tangeable but as necessary as great food. Enough about me, why don't you talk abou me :-) Yes, its a smiley face. I apologize. The trajectory : A writers' a man who writes a lot. I wrote my grandmother long letters because she loved them....then... Some college(s) yes before getting sidetracked as an actor which led me to music, and songwriting, and eventually, playing guitar. It was nearly 20 years before i started dancing which of course meant that it had to be A HIP-HOP DANCE COMPANY FOR MIDDLE-AGED WHITE DUDES. We did guerrilla street performances all over the place. Other useless bits: Went full bore opera in a rock club once, accapocco. Performed at both the old and the new 930 club. Once heard one of my songs come on whilst i was trying on some pants at Urban Outfitters (they were too small). Wrote music for an indie film I never saw. Recorded a couple full length independent releases i'd REALLY like to sell to you!! Toured the US a few times and had two releases produced by the same guy who made one of Lou Reeds Albums. Founded a landscape design company that eventually got swallowed up by a larger company. Never struck or physically harmed another human being in my adult life, but came close.Quit ALL of my compulsive behavior (except sugar & caffeine) and havnt yet killed myself or you, obviously. Helped a few others do the same, i hope. Having previously opened for acts like Jeff Buckley or Fugazi, my solo set does what they might but hopefully with more swing attached. That said the fact that I use beats, play acoustic, andpack allota words in sometimes prolly accounts for the occasional Beck comparisons. I accept that it helps to have something to compare to so there ya go. I use foot pedals to trigger the samples, and can always count on my various neurosis to trigger a plethora of wildly unfounded insecurities. Long ago, I got grossed out by the idea of ever becoming a traditional singer/songwriter and opted instead for cheap laughs, true scary stories, and throwing opera in on occasion. Before music I found the Lord, spoke in tounges, and worked on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. Then I gave em all up and headed back North. Twenty years later I'm told I sometimes speak in tounges in my sleep. I live in New York City.
